Sea level rise is outpacing Everglades restoration. What's the solution?

The southern Everglades provides a number of ecosystem services including storm protection and water supply that make it a vital resource. Mangroves in Everglades National Park alone provide between $2 billion and $3.4 billion worth of carbon storage. With the public pulse in favor of increased Everglades restoration efforts, the state, specifically the South Florida Water Management District, needs to do more to protect these ecosystems in the battle against sea level rise.
